The Buckeyes Beat the Badgers in Overtime

Hello Buckeye Fans!

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was so nice because we finally had enough time to get our house picked up, get laundry done, and time to relax. We've been so busy lately, so it was awesome finally having a night game where we can actually accomplish stuff before it was game time! The girls looked adorable this weekend too, especially Livian in her Ohio State outfit. Littlest Ohio State fan in the family!

Justin has also decided on his next tattoo, it's going to be this picture of Livian. He has one of Brielle around the same age as Livian now, and I think this would be so perfect! Our girls are beautiful.

Our Thoughts on the Game

This damn game had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was a nail biter and I seriously don't have any nails left because I was that nervous! We finally got to go to our favorite bar, drink some beer, eat some good food and watch our favorite team play! And it was a good game to watch, even Urban Meyer would agree with me when I say "now, THAT was a ball game". This was the first true test for the Buckeyes, Wisconsin was a top ten ranked team and we were able to beat them on the road. Ohio State never gave up, they were determined to be victorious.

The game had a slow start (again), but when we started to fall behind, that's when the panic started to set in for me. Leaving the first half 10 points behind was NOT fun and was probably the longest wait of my life.  All I could do was pray to the College Football Gods during halftime and hope that they would answer my prayers, and they did! I also try my best to not blame the refs, but some of the calls were ridiculous, especially the call against Urban Meyer that ended up being a brutal 15 yard penalty. We managed to score 17 points in the second half, and 7 points in overtime, allowing us to get that W.
Feels gooooood, look at that score!

I sometimes forget that this team is young. When they were struggling I was getting frustrated, but I have to remind myself that this is a young team that is maturing little by little in each game.

One of the things I love most is that Ohio State's coaching staff is able to bring the team together during half time, and make the necessary adjustments to win. Not to mention, J.T. Barrett managed to also set a school record and led his team to its toughest win of the season.

Poor Wisconsin Fans
I know we still have a long road ahead of us, but I believe in our Buckeyes! There is so much more to look forward to in this season, and I'm so ready for it to be GAME DAY. Up next we hit the road again for another night game at Penn State! Thanks for reading and until next time! O-H!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hello Buckeye Fans!

This past Saturday the Buckeyes and their fans had a "Pink Out" at Ohio State! I love that Ohio State is involved in Breast Cancer Awareness. Especially because it hits close to home. I have had two women in my family who were diagnosed with breast cancer. My aunt, passed away from cancer in 2013 and six short months later my Grammy was diagnosed with breast cancer too. All the women in my family were worried that there was a possibility this breast cancer was genetic. We found out that it was not, and we were relieved but it did not take away the pain of losing a loved one, or the worry of possibly losing a loved one.

This month is important to me, and I usually do the Walk for Hope at the Phoenix Zoo, but I wasn't able to attend. So, this year I am doing something a little different, I signed up for the Making Strides of Phoenix Event at the Tempe Beach Park on Saturday, October, 22 2016! If you're not doing anything that Saturday morning sign up and do the walk with me! Registration is at 7 a.m. and the walk begins at 8 a.m! I have also set up a donation goal, which is only $50! If you would like to donate, that would be wonderful. Check out the links below, click the "event details" for more info on the Making Strides of Phoenix event. To check out the donation goal I have set up, click "donate" and don't forget to look at the Making Strides Facebook page, you can even register over there too!

Please help me support so many amazing women and cheer them on as we all help fight against breast cancer! And I hope that one day we will live in a world without breast cancer. Thank you!

The Buckeyes Beat the Hoosiers

Hello Buckeye Fans!

Quick Recap of Our Weekend

           Livian being adorable
Brielle helping Uncle Jesse make pizza

Well, I'm already making promises I can't keep. In my last post I said I would post on Saturday after the game, and here we are two days later. Good Job, Claire, good job. We had a pretty busy weekend, we spent the whole weekend with family and friends, and it was exactly what we needed after a long week. It was wonderful spending time with the people we love, it honestly rejuvenates the soul.

Livian is too big for your shoulders Brielle!
We kicked off the weekend watching the Ohio State game, had a BBQ after the victory, drank some beers, played some games with our friends and family and had some laughs. Family is my life, and I loved that we were able to spend time with both sides of our family, it's awesome living so close because we get to see everyone often.

My Thoughts About the Game

We are 5-0 and that is something to get pumped about! I am going to be transparent and say I was a little disappointed with how my Buckeyes played. This was the first game so far this season that I've been stressed out and it brought back some memories of last season. I'm hoping that it was simply a bad day for Ohio State and that they are coming into the next game at Wisconsin with a strong game plan and they just straight up whoop Badger ass.

The game started out slow, and that was a red flag for me. I instantly knew that it was going to be an annoying game, with stupid plays, and I would hear my husband yell "run the damn ball" over and over again. And it's true, we all know those plays work, so why the hell were they trying to get fancy with the play calling? The game began to pick up the pace, and I was happy they beat Indiana by 21 points. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the score. I'm really praying to the college football Gods this week and hoping that the game this upcoming Saturday is similar to what we witnessed in 2014 when our Buckeyes played Wisconsin.

Something that also probably made me in a bad mood was that we watched the game on ESPN. The commentators drive me absolutely bat-shit crazy. Everything was about the Hoosiers the entire time, and how "great" they were doing. But we all know who ESPN loves, and it ain't Ohio State. So, maybe, just MAYBE Ohio State didn't do as bad as everyone thinks they did, what if it was all strategy for this big Ohio State-Wisconsin match-up and all the silly play calling was really just a ruse? Now, wouldn't that be somethin' clever?

Overall, I wasn't impressed with Indianas offense or defense, so I think that's why I was so confused as to why the Buckeyes didn't crush it like they had been for the past four games. All I know is that even without Zeke the Beast, Ohio State can still run the damn ball. They're a good f***ing team, and even though their performance on Saturday wasn't at 100%, they still won, and they won by 21 points... They're still THE Ohio State Buckeyes, and they're gonna dominate this upcoming Saturday, and I am SO ready to see this shit go down.

Justin's Players of the Game

Offense: JT Barrett- Off day throwing the ball but managed the running game well--137 rushing yards 1TD

Defense: DLine- Besides opening drive held IU to 2.5 YPC on 40 attempts.

Break out player: Parris Campbell 149 return yards, 91 yard kick off return before halftime was enough to get the Buckeyes back to a 2 score lead.

That's all we have for today, until next time, and thanks for reading! O-H!

Our Blog Plans and A Future Podcast?

Hello Buckeye Fans!

I was planning on posting tomorrow since it is GAME DAY (best damn day of the week) but I just discovered that my favorite podcast is no longer in production and I am DEVASTATED about it. You guys don't even know how sad I am about this. It's the podcast I recommended in my last post and I went to go listen to it today because I have fallen behind, I open it all up, listen to their "bye week" episode... and they were really actually saying "goodbye". Noooooooo! *insert crying emoji here* Ugh, I'm unbelievably sad right now.

However, it has gotten me thinking about maybe making a podcast of our own. Justin has discussed this idea with me for the past few months, so now that we can't listen to our favorite podcast, we may need to make our own. I am obsessed with podcasts, I listen to them every day at work, so, if we are going to this shit, we are going to do it RIGHT. I've got some research to do, and possibly some new equipment to buy, I will keep you guys posted on that news!

Other updates about our blog, we are diving balls deep into this thing and we are pretty pumped about it! My last two blog posts I've made have mostly been posts about getting to know us as a family and what we love. But starting tomorrow, and every Saturday afterward, Justin and I are going to discuss the game, who we think key players were in the games, and where we think our Buckeyes are headed in the future! Justin will also be live tweeting on our new Twitter page during the game, and feel free to ask him questions too!

Speaking of questions, I've added the "contact us" feature onto our blog, PLEASE email us with any questions you have or any suggestions on topics that you would like us to write about! I have also posted our links to our Instagram and Twitter pages, so please connect with us on those too!

We are excited to start this fun hobby as a family, and we look forward to what lies ahead for us. We just love this team so much, and it has honestly become a big component of our family. We look forward to Saturdays because of the games, and it's usually the only day we get to spend together as a family. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for tomorrows post about the game! O-H!

Our Favorites

Over the years, Justin and I have started collecting some pretty sweet merchandise. We're also fans of media about Ohio State (books, videos, and podcasts). So, I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorites with all of you!

Merchandise

When you have a husband that loves a specific sports team, it's SO easy to buy them gifts. I got Justin Ohio State SOCKS and he was so excited to wear them. So to all my readers out there, if you're single and plan on eventually getting married my advice: marry someone who loves a sports team, because they will never get disappointed of the gifts you get them

I think my all time favorite gift I gave Justin was when I surprised him with a black Ohio State Jersey before their blackout game last year. He and I were obsessed with those uniforms, and I would love it if they did it again this season. I bought his from Nike (online). After I bought it, I looked online the next day, and they were ALL sold out. This jersey came to us instantly lucky. Justin has worn it almost every game day this season. I don't think he's washing this thing any time soon either. Lovely.

When we moved into our new place, I got us some Ohio State coasters, and these are f***ing durable. Livian, being the little monster she is, pulls them off our coffee table and they fall onto our tile every. single. day. None of them have broken yet, AND they are inexpensive and look nice, that's why they are one of my favorite items!!

Our pregnancy announcement for Livian in 2015

One summer Justin's family went back to Ohio to visit extended family in Zanesville, and they brought back so much Ohio State merchandise, I don't even want to know how much it all ended up costing them. But the cutest thing they bought Brielle was a little Ohio State cheerleading outfit. I can't wait for Livian to fit in it. So freaking cute!

Books

There are two books we have been enjoying lately, the first one I just started reading. It's been around for quite awhile and Justin has had it for a long time, I've just never gotten around to reading it until now, and I'm loving it.   I love learning about the fans and how much they unconditionally love the same team I do!

Justin's favorite book right now is of course Urban Meyer's new book. I have yet to read it but so far Justin loves it. He looks up to Urban Meyer and thinks he is the best coach. And I truly believe he is as well. It would be pretty amazing to meet him!

Videos

My favorite video on youtube is the Ohio State and Bichigan rivalry because, 1. Bichigan sucks, and 2. Because I love the rivalry, I love kicking their ass every year. And 3. I am SO excited to straight up murder them this year! It's gonna be a really great Thanksgiving weekend!

Ohio State vs Bichigan-The Rivalry:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irqM7BHhlKc

Podcast

The best Ohio State podcast is The Buckeye Brothers. They are HILARIOUS. And they post podcasts every week after the games, and they even post stuff during off season, so you get to listen about Ohio State all year long! They have a facebook page, "The Buckeye Brothers Podcast" and also a websitehttp://buckeyebrothers.podbean.com/
If you are a fan of Ohio State, you will love this podcast, so go check them out!

Well, that's all I have for now! I could go on and on about all of our favorites, because in all honesty, anything to do with Ohio State IS our favorite, because THEY are our favorite. Until next time, and thanks for reading! O-H!
